Musician Micah McLaurin released his moody electronic new single. The song features empowering lyrics about embracing your sexual side no matter how that may look or despite what the haters may think. “Call Me” features a more dark and melancholy beat which fits perfectly into the current pop landscape. The song will help establish Micah’s place in the music industry. This is the perfect song to do that, as he is transitioning from making strictly piano music to now sharing his story with fans through lyrics and great beats.
The music video for “Call Me” has also now been released to YouTube. This steamy video is directed by An Le, who worked with some of pop’s biggest icons, including Mariah Carey and Cher. Micah is hoping to bring back the golden age of exciting and lavish music videos with this release. A lot of artists do not focus as much on creating extravagant visual content to go with their music in the streaming era, but with “Call Me”, Micah has created an exciting and well done piece of art. Full of hot choreography and lavish, sparkly costumes, this video does not shy away from being full of visual treats for the viewer to enjoy.
Growing up in a conservative home and being sent to conversion therapy when he was younger made Micah want to create songs that would allow people to have a sense of authentic freedom. To help amplify the songs visually, Micah collaborated with creative director An Le, who has worked with some of the biggest pop divas ever, such as Cher and Mariah Carey. The photos have helped build an aesthetic that brings the single to life even more.
Additionally, Micah has recently put out another distinct and dance-floor-ready single titled “Baboom”. Drawing inspiration from his deep love of French music, much of the track is performed in the language. With its bombastic beat and clever European flair, “Baboom” is sure to captivate fans of energetic dance music and become a nightclub favorite. Co-written with Simon Wilco — known for his work with pop icon, Carly Rae Jepsen — this song marks Micah’s boldest dive yet into the electronic music scene. “Baboom” is a track to watch and a testament to Micah’s ever-evolving artistry.
His career continues to rise as he also performed at Dolce and Gabbana’s Couture Festival last year. Some of the biggest pop artists had sets there, including Christina Aguilera and Katy Perry. He has worked and continues to work with some of pop music’s hottest producers and gotten acclaim for some of his other pop singles, such as “MOONS” and “Don’t Give Up On Love”.
In 2023, Micah made waves in the industry when he combined pop and classical piano on his album Diamonds. The project featured new versions of some of the biggest pop songs ever but with a stripped piano instrumental twist. That was the perfect start to show where his music is heading as he now dives into full-fledged bombastic pop while still showing his outstanding musical talents. Check out “Call Me” or any other of his songs.
