Malta is on everyone’s travel gaydar right now; after all, it was honored with the title of European Capital of Culture in 2018. What may come as a surprise, however, is its extremely liberal attitude and openness towards the LGBTQ community. In fact, Malta officially has some of the best rights for LGBTQ people in the world. And of course its dreamy island location gives you the perfect backdrop to experience your pride.
It comes as no surprise then that Gay Pride Malta ‘brings the house down’ each year towards the end of summer (usually in September) with a host of different events to illuminate the island with pride. Expect festivals, conferences, fashion nights, and one colorful parade to boot. Malta might be small in size, but its pride is larger than life!
